    CUSTOM QUILT ORDER

Guide for ordering a custom quilt!

If you don’t find a quilt in stock that suits you, or the basic size isn’t ideal, you can place a custom order.

    Benefits of a custom quilt:

    • tailored to your measurements

    • adjusted to your sleeping habits

    • considers your cold tolerance

    • can be made in your preferred color combination

Estimated production time for a custom quilt is 6–8 weeks.
Please fill out the order form and use the notes section to describe any unique requests.

    ABOUT TOPQUILTS

A topquilt is the ultralight alternative to a traditional sleeping bag — essentially a blanket with a closed footbox.
All non-essential parts are removed to reduce weight and bulk without compromising functionality.

The two main differences compared to a sleeping bag:

    • there is no insulation underneath your back

    • there is no hood

When sleeping on the ground, your body compresses the insulation beneath you, making it ineffective. In a topquilt, this section is omitted to avoid unnecessary weight.
Instead of a hood, the topquilt features an adjustable draft collar and drawcord closure to seal warmth around your neck. For head insulation, a hat, scarf, or balaclava is recommended.

The included elastic straps help secure the quilt to your sleeping pad, keeping it in place.
In a hammock, it’s one of the most comfortable and practical sleep systems available.

On average, a topquilt can be up to 30% lighter than a sleeping bag with equivalent warmth.
With a suitable sleeping pad or underquilt, it works great on the ground or in a hammock.

    INSULATION

KHIBU MAGMA quilts are filled with premium goose down.

You can choose between two fill types:

    800 CUIN untreated goose down
    – best for dry conditions, or shorter trips where drying is possible

800 CUIN HYDROPHOBIC goose down (DWR-treated)
    – treated with a durable water-repellent finish
    – absorbs less moisture, dries faster
    – retains loft better even when damp

If you hike in humid or condensation-prone environments, or can’t regularly dry your gear, hydrophobic down is a more reliable and practical choice.

    TECHNICAL FEATURES

    • Baffled construction – prevents cold spots and thermal bridging

    • Differential cut – the outer shell is larger than the inner to preserve loft

    • Elastic Baffle Adjustment (EBR) – cinches in from the sides for better warmth retention

    • Flat clips – for securing to sleeping pads

    • Oversized draft collar – improves neck sealing and comfort

    MATERIALS

All fabrics are downproof, breathable, calendared, and treated with a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish.

    COMFORT RATING

The warmth of a quilt is primarily defined by the loft height — the internal thickness of the filled baffles — along with materials and construction.

Comfort ratings are a guideline only, as everyone’s metabolism and cold tolerance differ.

    To maximize insulation:

    • wear clean, dry sleepwear

    • don’t go to sleep hungry or dehydrated

    • use the bathroom before bed

    WEIGHT

Final weight depends on your chosen materials and size.
For custom quilts, weight may vary by ±5–8%.
