If you don’t find an underquilt in stock that suits you, or the basic size isn’t ideal, you can place a custom order.

ABOUT UNDERQUILTS
One of the most important parts of hammock sleeping is proper bottom insulation. When lying in a hammock, the insulation under your body gets compressed, making it ineffective. The underquilt hangs beneath the hammock without compression, so the down retains its loft and insulation performance.
The KHIBU MAGMA UNDERQUILT is a lightweight, down-filled, custom-made insulating layer designed for hammocks. With the right type and amount of fill, it is suitable for all seasons.
INSULATION
KHIBU underquilts are filled with premium goose down.
You can choose between two fill types:

800 CUIN untreated goose down – Ideal for drier conditions where drying is possible.

800 CUIN HYDROPHOBIC goose down (DWR-treated) – Treated with a water-repellent finish. Performs better in humid, damp conditions. Absorbs moisture more slowly and dries faster.
Hydrophobic down is especially useful if you cannot regularly dry your gear or often hike in areas with high humidity.

Differential cut – outer shell is larger so the loft doesn’t collapse under tension

Carabiner suspension and cord locks – for quick and easy adjustment

All fabrics are downproof, breathable, calendared, and treated with a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish.

COMFORT RATING
The warmth of an underquilt is primarily defined by its loft height, as well as the type and amount of fill and the construction of the baffles.
Comfort ratings are guidelines only – actual warmth depends on materials, sleeping habits, and individual metabolism.
