ABOUT THE TOPQUILT

The topquilt is the ultralight alternative to a sleeping bag,  essentially a blanket with a closed footbox.

The main differences compared to a traditional sleeping bag:

• the back is open

• no hood

When sleeping on the ground, the insulation under the body is compressed by your weight and loses its insulating ability. In a topquilt, this unnecessary section is simply left out.
Instead of a hood, an adjustable draft collar with elastic cord seals the quilt around the neck, while the head can be protected with a hat, scarf, or balaclava.

Thanks to these design choices, the topquilt can be up to 30% lighter than a sleeping bag with the same insulation, and it can be used both on the ground (with a proper sleeping pad) and in a hammock (with an underquilt).

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Baffled chambers
The outer and inner fabrics are not stitched directly together – instead, they are connected with baffle strips. This eliminates cold spots where insulation would otherwise be compromised.

Differential cut
The outer shell is cut larger than the inner lining, so the down has space to loft and won’t be compressed, even under tension.

Elastic Tension System (ETS)
Along the quilt’s long sides runs an elastic cord with cord locks, allowing you to tighten the edges. This improves insulation and blocks cold air from entering when you move during the night.

800 CUIN untreated goose down:

TEMPERATURE RATING

The quilt’s warmth is primarily determined by the loft (thickness of the down fill in the chambers).
The values are indicative – comfort level varies from person to person.

Tips for maximum warmth:

• wear clean, dry sleep clothes

• don’t go to bed hungry or thirsty

• visit the bathroom before sleeping for uninterrupted rest

The quilt’s total weight varies depending on fabrics and dimensions.
In custom orders, the final weight may differ by ±5–8%.
